Janet was brought up in a suburb of South London, and not easily daunted by adversity, running her own business at the age of twenty-six, repairing dot matrix printer heads, which can be found in (ATM) cash machines. She left in 1996, having acquired a range of skills, which she made good use of. Working in a variety of industries she gained a broad view of business and went onto work with small to medium sized businesses as a ‘start-up' business advisor. She enjoys working with businesses and individuals, acting as a facilitator to encourage them to reach their goals. |
She keeps in touch with her emotions by using the medium of art and writing, having been encouraged to do so by her uncle, Reginald Stead, who has been an inspiration since she was young. "Writng about some of my life's experiences has been a cathartic exercise," she explains "Life's path is never straight forward and at times you can feel you have hit rock bottom."
Janet is also a qualified Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner (NLP) and believes that by mastering your mind you can overcome adversity

In 2007 Janet was inspired to paint Edith Cavell Mountain after a visit to Canada. "It's a beautiful place in the Athabasca valley and I just had to get back and paint it myself, there was a real aura there, no wonder they named it after a real hero."She said |
Edith Cavel (The "Martyr nurse") cared for the wounded on both sides and helped 200 allied soldiers escape. She was arrested on charges of espionage and executed 12th Oct, 1915. Canada recognised her bravery by naming a mountain after her - the grandest mountain in the Athabasca valley. |
"Spirit Island in Jasper National Park, Canada is a beautifully magical place. Reaching the island by boat one realises just how small we really as it is surrounded by a spectacular mountain range. There is a wonderful feeling of calm and peacefulness about the place, very special." Janet
